400TH aNNIVERSARY wINE

In 2020, the California Society marked the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower landing with a commemorative wine that quickly became a beloved part of our celebration. More than a beverage, it served as a symbol of fellowship, remembrance, and the enduring legacy of the families whose stories shaped the earliest chapters of our nation.

The anniversary wine was selected for its balance, character, and connection to California’s own heritage of craftsmanship. Members across the state raised their glasses—virtually and in small gatherings—to honor the courage of the Pilgrims, the resilience of their descendants, and the shared commitment to preserving history for future generations.

Today, we remember that special vintage not only for its flavor, but for the moment it represented: a year when tradition carried us through uncertainty, and when the California Society found meaningful ways to celebrate together despite the challenges of the time.

The 400th anniversary wine remains a cherished part of our Society’s story—a reminder that heritage is best honored in community, with gratitude for those who came before us and hope for those who will follow.​

These coins were more than commemorative pieces; they were symbols of heritage, gratitude, and the shared legacy carried by descendants across our state.

Each coin was crafted with intention: meaningful imagery, historic dates, and design elements that reflected the courage of the Pilgrims and the generations who followed. Members treasured them not only as collectibles, but as tangible reminders of the stories, sacrifices, and faith that shaped the earliest chapters of American history.

During a year marked by distance and uncertainty, the 400th anniversary challenge coins became a unifying emblem. They connected members across California, reminding us that even when we could not gather in person, our shared lineage and purpose remained strong.

Members wore them proudly at meetings, virtual gatherings, and commemorative events, creating a sense of connection even in a year when many celebrations moved online.

The 400th anniversary lapel pin quickly became a favorite keepsake. Its design honored the courage and faith of the Pilgrims while reflecting the California Society’s commitment to preserving their legacy. Many members continue to wear the pin at meetings and ceremonies, keeping the spirit of the anniversary alive.
